  • Rafal M. Niezabitowski  - Spread the smile - smile to a stranger!
    Hi folks!

We are going to organise flash mob (kind of) event in Poland that day. We want get people to smile to each other everywhere throughout the day. On buses, trains, streets, work as - much as they can and to someone they don't know. Get the smiles to the streets! Get 40 million Polish people to be nice to each other and smile, smile and smile. Prove that a smile is contagious! There is only one question. On your logo I can’t see Polish flag! Why?

    Kind regards!
  • Smiley Admin  - About flags
The flags are meant to be symbolic and just a sampling. No country was excluded for any reason other than lack of space in the design.

  • Milda
    Dear all,

My name is Milda Astrauskaite, I am from Lithuania, Kaunas city, working in Martynas Mazvydas secondary school as a psychologist.
I want to share our experiece on a event, which we've organized in our seconmdary school in the year of 2009, October the 10th.
We called this event - "Warm the school with your SMILE :D " .
In early morning when the teachers and school kids started coming in, kids from the 12 grade were giving colorful smile stickers and asked to warm the school with the SMILE. Although in October it's already pretty cold here in Lithuania, this nice & simple event made the school brighter and warmer.
Little kids, - they just loved it! They kept on coming to us asking for more stickers for them and their friends.
And you know, smile may be so simple, but so powerful! It's a gift which doesn't cost and can not be evaluated. Why not to give it to people around you? Try it yourself and see how it goes... Sometimes something really magical can happen....

  • Roxana Román Villegas and Stud  - Happy Children
Hello! We're students at Basic Secondary N° 3 School in Capitán sarmiento, Buenos Aires, Argentina. We're 14 and 15 years old and we're in 3rd. Form 'A'.
We're writing in relation to the World Smile Day celebration the last October 2nd. We worked in a project guided by our English Teacher, Miss Roxana Román Villegas.
We organized an event to celebrate the WSD. We visited children of Centro Complementario 801 and played a game with them.We made a big Smiley Face on the floor with yellow and black caps. We spent a beautiful day, smiling and sharing our solidarity. We sang the song 'We are the world'. We took a lot of photographs and gave up sweets, balloons and smiley face pins.
We are very happy because we did an act of kindness and helped children smile.
  • Le Nguyen  - Give a little giggle! Grin a little grin! Do an im
Greetings from a member of Seven Hills Chorus! We were honored to have Charlie Ball come to our school and hear our voices sing to his songs. Even in a hot music room, my choir members never cease to amaze me with the radiance in their voices and smiles. Everyone kept smiling no matter how stuffy the room became. I hope the world can too show its radiance like my choir members did and smile everyday! Because everyday is a World Smile Day, it's just up to you to make it one! :D

  • Topanga  - Love the Reason
I love the Reason of Harvey Ball and try to make someone smile every day.
It doesn't need many to do that.
Sure I don't have much money but every time I can, I give some to the Aerzte der Dritten Welt (Doctors of the 3. World) because they work without payment and help People all over the World they have nothing. They only need 10euros for medicaments to operate a children with cheilognathopalatoschisis and give them the first smile in the life :) That's what I like to do, to conjure a smile on the face of a child.
May the stars of joy and love accompany you all and a nice Smile Day from Germany :)

As the 3rd world's largest smiley face collector, I'll be spreading joy amongst the staff and students on a little island in the middle of the Detroit river. I am a third grade teacher and have smiley faces as my class theme. We celebrate World Smile Day each year...the students get to tell a joke to their classmates to help make them smile(and they get bonus points for speaking in front of their classmates). The students love it. They spend all week looking for the perfect joke to tell on Friday! We also talk about doing an act of kindness for the day.
  • Cindy Breton  - Celebrating WSD !
I'm 62 and since 2001 I have been celebrating WSD with family, friends & co-workers! I order smilie buttons, Acts of Kindness Coins, 4 different type of Smiley stamps and stickers, and smilies magnets etc. On WSD, my 10 grandkids each get a mixed baggie of the items to share with their friends. I then take the rest of the itmes and hand them out to friends and take the rest to share with co-warkers! Throughout the year co-workers DONATE "Smiley" items towards making "Smiley Themed" baskets for WSD! I make the basket(s) up a few days before WSD. The names of all who have donated items are put into a container and 1 name is drawn at each break time & lunch time!!! The baskets are given free to the lucky winner! I also take in an ink stamp pad & a Smiley Stamp...everyone gets "stamped" with a Smiley Face" for the day! :D I also choose a container and fill it with "Smiley Gumballs" for co-workere in my department to "Guess the Gumballs&...
